This calculator is one of the tabs in my spreadsheet available here
You need to understand how to read a Nutritioal Information label to use this. I've explaned this here.
Looking below is a recipe for pumpkin pie as calculated in my spreadsheet (recipe at bottom).
The pie makes 8 servings though you can recalculate by changing 8 to 12 for smaller slices (in cell C4).
There is no crust included here. The pie works great without the crust so no big deal!.
Column B is how many "servings" of the item you included in the recipe. If the nutritional label says a serving is 1/4 cup and you use a whole cup then put 4 here.
There is no need to add Kcals (AKA Calories in column C) unless you want to see the old points value. I left it in for myself. Leaving it blank doesn't hurt anything!
In column D put fat grams per serving from the label, column E Fiber grams per serving, etc.
What you see here is 35 points to eat the entire
recipe!! 4 PointsPlus to eat 1/8 of the pie (1 serving)
though it is really 4.42 so 2 slices is 9 PointsPlus!! (double before rounding
when you eat multi servings!)
Finally, when I am stumped on values for something I google it. Put in the name of the food and the words "Nutritional Info" and you should get what you need.
Eggs listed below draw values from the spreadsheet I built which includes a whole sheet on different eggs. These are normal Large eggs.
If you want to find individual Calories, Fat, Fiber, Carbs or Protien per serving of your recipe, divide the Recipe Total of that column by the number of servings (Shown in cell C4 here). I could add that to the spreadsheet easily if folks want it automated.
I may actually try to program this on a web page at some point. If you want to save a recipe to play with later just copy the sheet in Excel and name it the recipe. Drop me a line if you need help with that. There's an email link on the "Home" page (first link).
The recipe is this:
Use the ingredients listed above. Pumpkin Pie Spice is easy to find. Some would
use 2-3 tsps worth others say 2 TBSP. I like mine more spicy and use my own
recipe for the spice!
Mix all ingredients till smooth. Pour in a baking dish that has ben lightly
sprayed with some kind of oil (I use olive oil).
Bake: 425º - 15 Minutes THEN 350º - 35-50 Minutes till done (check
with toothpick which should come out from the center clean).
